Angelides' Statement on Schwarzenegger's Election Year Change of Heart on Prescription Drugs

SACRAMENTO, CA - California State Treasurer and Democratic nominee for Governor Phil Angelides released the following statement today:

"I commend the Democratic legislative leadership who enacted this legislation.  Governor Schwarzenegger, who has taken more than one million dollars in contributions from drug companies, has rejected every legislative effort over the past three years to lower the cost of prescription drugs.  Now, in an election year, Schwarzenegger is hoping the voters will forget his past inaction.  I will be a Governor who always stands with hard-working families and seniors, rather than the big drug companies and HMOs."
