Orange County Deputy Sherrifs Endorse Angelides for Governor

SACRAMENTO, CA - The Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs, which represents over 1,750 sworn peace officers in Orange County, announced their endorsement today of Phil Angelides' candidacy for Governor.

"Phil's staunch commitment to public safety and law enforcement concerns, along with his devotion to community service, made him the obvious choice for our endorsement," said Wayne Quint Jr., President of the AOCDS.  "In contrast to Governor Schwarzenegger, who attempted to cut peace officers' retirements and benefits, Phil will work with law enforcement throughout the state to assure that the communities of California are protected."

The Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs joins the California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations (CCLEA), the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) and more than 25 local law enforcement organizations supporting Angelides' campaign for Governor, including the Sacramento Deputy Sheriffs' Association, the San Jose Deputy Sheriffs' Association, the Los Angeles County Police Officers' Association, the Oakland Police Officers' Association and the San Francisco Police Officers' Association.
